OUR APPROACH TO FILM MUSIC

Having worked in the film and music businesses for  many years we realized that film music was often not a priority in a film producer’s strategy and that most of the time there was a real misunderstanding between the cinema and the music worlds. Film producers felt discouraged by the complexity of music rights and music professionals complained of the lack of importance given by film producers to film music.

From that statement we decided to create Just Temptation, a service dedicated to all aspects of film music: from production and synchronization to distribution and broadcasting on media.

Just Temptation's convictions are that a good soundtrack can be a strong artistic and emotional support to the pictures, but also that it can turn out to be an essential component of the promotion and creation of marketing buzz for a film release.

Having understood that, Just Temptation aims at accompanying producers from the beginning until the end of the film music process.

Save the date: Film Producers Lounge @ Popkomm

Just Temptation will support a networking and information event focusing specifically on the subject of ‘music in films’ which will take place September 8th, from 2 to 5 p.m. during Germany’s biggest international trade show for the music and entertainment industry, the Popkomm in Berlin.

Four experts from the music and film industry will be available for individual meetings (lasting a maximum of 30 minutes) with trade visitors at the Popkomm. They will offer advice on topics that include music licensing, dubbing, legal aspects, soundtrack production and financing in feature films and documentaries, and if possible will put them in touch with film producers and labels.

Confirmed experts so far are Guido Hettinger (media lawyer, Kanzlei Brehm & v. Moers, Franfurt a. M.), Michael P. Aust (music publisher, film producer, director of Soundtrack_Cologne) , Corinna Poeszus (director sales/marketing TV & Film, Universal Publishing Production Music, Berlin) and Thierry Baujard (Just Temptation). Interested music labels and publishing companies, musicians, composers, film producers, soundtrack composers, content producers, music studio operators and post production companies are welcome to register by e-mailing contact@just-temptation.com.
The first ten film producers to register will receive free accreditation for the day at Popkomm.

Thierry Baujard @ C'n'B Cologne
On Friday, 26th of June, Thierry Baujard will participate in a panel titled "Treasure hunt - Music docs and music biopics" at the C'n'B, the Creative Business Convention which is part of the c/o pop in Cologne. (2pm, room 5). More infos here.

CANNES 2010
On 15th May, Thierry Baujard will present Just Temptation during the Producer's Network "Breakfast Meetings" in Cannes. He will speak about original soundtrack production, rights issues, creating buzz around film music, and the soundtrack investment fund that Just Temptation manages. MOFFOM Minifest & Market 2009
The MOFFOM Minifest took place at Central Kino from September 16th to 18th, 2009. A total of 6 films with a strong musical element were screened.
The MOFFOM Market took place at the HomeBase Lounge and included a co-production market for music-oriented feature film and documentary projects in financing stage. Five production companies from various European countries presented their music-oriented feature films or documentary projects. Music producers and TV buyers shared their industry insights with the festival participants and visitors.
